Dear Mr. Laws:
We have written to the N.A.A.C.P. regarding the name of the individual in the Voter Registration project in West Feliciana Parish (Louisiana, 1963) who was instrumental in having the Reverend Joe Carter register. The N.A.A.C.P. has no record of the registration and suggested that you would be able to track this information down for us.
Mr. Robert Penn Warren is writing a book to be published by Random House called Who Speaks For The Negro? and taped most of his interviews. Unfortunately the tape with Reverend Carter is not clear and we are unable to determine whether the worker was Ruby Livermore or Ludie Livermore. He worked with Ronnie Moore in West Feliciana Parish.
We would appreciate any help you can give us on this.
With thanks.
Sincerely yours,
(Mrs.) Nan A. Talese
