Dear Mr. Warren:
Thank you for sending me the transcript of our conversation and also for the copy of your new novel.
I have been out of town recently, and in addition, this is a very busy time at the end of our term of court. I have scribbled minor revisions on the carbon copy which you sent me. These accomplish little more than making my responses somewhat more literate. Generally, I think I have succeeded in conveying the thoughts in my mind.
I hope the interviews are going well and that, before too long, the public will have the benefit of your research and analysis.
Sincerely yours,
William H. Hastie
